Murals serve the capacity of engaging the viewer in a public space, art that is accessible for everyone. It is an opportunity to give back to the community. Sometimes touching on informative and educational subject matter, current social themes, or simply recuperating and adorning urban or rural spaces.
This series is based on a personal, and cultural experience from traveling, and spending time in my country of origin, Colombia. The goal is to paint expressive styles of form, color, and shape while combining representational techniques of specific fauna, flora, and landscape.
Having grown up in multiple cities, I have been drawn to urban, and industrial scenery. Panoramic city escapes are among my favorite way to portray urban environment. These paintings are based on the practice of observation and representational detail. A challenging practice in a congested and fast moving place. Transportation is a reoccurring theme in this subject, trains in particular.
