“Awesome Blossom,” Provincetown Mural Project.
The vision for this project is a collaborative effort between Sam Tager (executive director of Provincetown Public Art Foundation) and me. The vision for temporary public murals on the Cape has been developing in recent years. The Trap shed program on Mc Millan pier in Provincetown, which offers studio spaces for artists on the pier, serve as a perfect canvas to display temporary installations on their outdoor walls. Measuring 8x20 ft. seven artists were selected to participate in this project resulting in a creative display on Mc Millan pier.
Provincetown continues to bring a strong creative energy to add to its historical creative vibe. Many thanks to Sam Tager, Provincetown Public Art Foundation, Cate Mcquaid, and all the artists involved.

Muralist Felipe Ortiz brings "Awesome Blossom" to Provincetown's MacMillan Pier
I’ve always loved the tones and movement of Felipe’s murals. In 2022, he told WBUR’s Dana Forsythe that his approach comes in part from what he took from three years studying with painting professor Kofi Kayiga at MassArt.
